About 5 million medical examinations were carried out in Kazakhstan in 9 months of 2020 - Social Health Insurance Fund
For nine months of 2020, 4.9 million preventive examinations of Kazakhstanis were carried out. For this purpose, the Social Health Insurance Fund spent 2.1 billion tenge.
Recall that during the period of restrictive measures related to the spread of Covid-19, polyclinics temporarily suspended preventive examinations.
“Preventive examinations allow detecting the disease at an early stage and, if necessary, initiate timely treatment. Now preventive examinations are again available, and we urge Kazakhstanis to take care of their health: go to the polyclinic at the place of attachment and undergo the necessary examinations, ”the Social Health Insurance Fund noted.
According to the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 685 "On the establishment of target groups of persons subject to preventive medical examinations, as well as the rules and frequency of these examinations", children from 0 to 18 years old and adults from 30 to 70 years old are subject to screening.
Children undergo preventive examinations annually until they reach majority. Pupils of preschool institutions, schoolchildren, students of secondary specialized educational institutions and students under 18 years old are examined by a mobile team in educational organizations. Examination of children who do not attend pre-school institutions is carried out at a clinic or family health center.
For women aged 30 to 70 years, once every four years, screening for cervical cancer is provided, which includes examination and cytological examination. After 40 years, once every two years, women can count on a prophylactic examination for early detection of breast cancer - they undergo mammography.
Men and women between the ages of 30 and 70 are examined once every two years for early identification of behavioral risk factors for the development of various diseases. If the doctor discovers that the patient is overweight, low in physical activity, smokes or consumes alcohol in dangerous doses, he will conduct a preventive consultation, give recommendations on changing behavior, and send him to a specialized health school.
After 40 years, men and women are screened once every two years for early detection of arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma.
Men and women aged 50 to 70 should be screened for early detection of colorectal cancer once every two years. The examination involves a hemocult test, if it gives a positive result, then the patient is sent to undergo a colonoscopic examination of the intestine.
It should be noted that the financing of preventive examinations is carried out at the expense of the compulsory health insurance system, therefore, in order to undergo screening, you must have an insurance status. At the same time, the state pays contributions for 11 million Kazakhstanis, which belong to 15 preferential categories.
